Don’t miss the Saturday contribution day!

Contribution day will be in the afternoon of Saturday, February 20 from 12:00 until 4:00pm ET.

Join us for opening remarks, 12:00 - 12:15 pm ET

All of the Zoom passcodes are FLDC2021

What’s a contribution day?

A contribution or code sprint is when people get together to work on one particular goal. In this case, we’re working on various Drupal issues.

What will we be working on?

We have several projects and initiatives to collaborate on. Including:

There will also be breakout groups to focus on things like Accessibility, Coding Standards, and Documentation.

First Time Contribution Workshop

Not a coder? That’s perfectly fine! There will be mentors available for those who need a little help to get started.

We will also have a series of Contribution Workshops for first-time contributors. There will be help setting up the necessary tools, understanding which types of issues to work on, and even some live demos of the complete contribution process.

Schedule for workshops (subject to change)

12:15 - 1:00pm ET - Getting involved in Drupal Contribution with AmyJune Hineline

1:00 - 2:00pm ET - Introduction to issue forks and merge requests with Mark Casias

1:00 - 2:00pm ET - Local tooling setup with Matthew Radcliffe and Randy Fay

2:00 - 2:30pm ET - Introduction to creating and reviewing patches with AmyJune Hineline

2:00 - 3:30pm ET - General Mentoring

Not everyone who works on open source projects is a developer. Smaller tasks help the less experienced gain confidence and experience, which, in turn, leads to more contributions. Code is very important, but so are all the other parts.

Be prepared to have a really good time…

Trust us, it’s a lot of fun when you get into it. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet other contributors, help collaborate and brainstorm, and move the Drupal project forward.

Honestly, it's a pretty good time.
